IN BRIEF: JCP APPROVES JDO 2 PUBLIC DRAFT

The Java Community Process (JCP) executive committee for J2SE/J2EE on Tuesday approved the reconsideration ballot for JSR-243 (Java Data Objects 2). The reconsideration ballot strengthened the alignment between the two persistence models and ensured that the models of development used by JDO 2 developers and EJB 3 developers were similar. The JDO specification team can now move forward on efforts to build a Technology Compatibility Kit and Reference Implementation, which are the final steps before standardization. SolarMetric is hosting several "Webinars" in March to answer questions regarding JDO.
